PARKS MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN I OR II

As a Parks Maintenance Technician, you are an important part of maintaining the city’s pathways, spraying weeds, mowing, assisting with tree work, putting up holiday lights at Conwell Park and other general labor and custodial tasks in the Weed and Pest areas of the Parks Division.
Schedule details: Monday - Friday
Summer: 7am – 3:30pm
Winter: 8am – 4:30pm
Snow Sifts: 4am – Noon

Parks Technician Sheridan Recreation District
Maintenance Responsibilities: Perform year-round maintenance of parks, recreational facilities, and outdoor spaces, including irrigation management, field preparation, and playground upkeep.
Seasonal Duties: Conduct mowing, weed control, snow removal, and trail/parking lot maintenance to ensure safe and accessible spaces.
Facility Oversight: Clean and repair bathrooms, fencing, and park signs while organizing shop supplies and supporting capital improvement projects.
Staff Supervision: Oversee part-time and seasonal staff, providing task assignment, training, and performance management.
Operational Tracking: Utilize MaintainX for maintenance tracking and coordinate budgeting needs with the Executive Director.
Qualifications and Skills: High school education with specialized training, 3–5 years of experience, knowledge of irrigation and equipment use, and strong organizational and communication skills.
